Utilisation de processus légers pour l'exécution de programmes a parallélisme de données : étude expérimentale.

Abstract : This paper studies the use of threads to support the execution of data-parallel programs. The overhead induced by the multithreaded environment is experimentally studied : global synchronization, thread creation, communication, thread migration. We propose some simple criteria to determine the ``right'' size of threads with respect to the expected overhead. We use the PM2 multithreaded environment which provides thread migration facilities.
