LIAMA is a cooperative research lab, hosted by CASIA, the Institute of Automation, of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Created by INRIA and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997, LIAMA is at the heart of a large network of partners in China and in France, associating research institutes (CNRS, CIRAD, INRA, CAAS, etc.), R&D labs (France Telecom, etc.), and universities (Ecoles Centrales, Tsinghua university, etc.). Its main missions are to setup research projects involving Chinese and French scientists ; promote open source software development in both countries ; strengthen relations between the academic and industrial communities in China and France ; develop training through research of Chinese and French students and scientists.
