Towards an acousmonium in VR immersion in 3D and binaural ambisonie

Since 2015, MotusLab and IReMus have been collaborating on a research project on the recording, study and transmission of acousmatic music performance. This article describes a new stage of the project aimed at creating an acousmonium in virtual reality (VR). To do this, MotusLab and IReMus collaborated with, on the one hand, the CICM of the University of Paris 8 for the realization of the VR acousmonium in Unity and, on the other hand, the LAM of Sorbonne University for the acoustic measurement of loudspeakers. The long-term objective is to develop the MotusLabTool software, used for acousmatic music research, to enable a quality binaural rendering of performance recordings.
